Professional bio

Geoff is a 30-year veteran of the investment management industry, and his experience representing leading investors across public and private market investment strategies while with Bank of Ireland (BIAM), Deutsche Bank (DeAM), GE (GEAM) and State Street (SSGA) has been formative in the establishment of Impactᴬᴺᴰ Inc.

What has also been formative is his strong belief in the Value of Time.  Having an older father who was born in 1906, and a variety of experiences in his youth with children with disabilities, as well as a few personal health challenges along the way, have underscored the importance of gratitude and reverse engineering both a good life and solutions for challenging problems.

Connecting dots from professional and personal experiences and incorporating the above mindset with concepts such as the adjacent possible and the Genius of the AND, have helped Geoff gain respect for innovative and visionary thinking, both useful in working on bespoke solutions for all types of clients.  His chapter called Sustainable Investing & The Adjacent Possible, part of Professor Cary Krosinsky`s 8th sustainable finance book titled Transition Momentum, provides a number of examples of this.

Geoff has been active in and passionate about the impact investing space and other approaches to sustainable investing for almost two decades and was interviewed in Forbes on "The Potential of Impact Investing" in 2011.

A transformative experience through a volunteer placement in Togo, West Africa with Crossroads International while he was still a student led to a lifelong interest in international development.  His work in the investment space combines a desire to help promote solutions with both optimal investment outcomes and those that can also contribute towards addressing other major environmental and social issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, diversity and inclusion, and economic inequality.

Geoff is very active as a passionate Mental Health Advocate, having founded the Pinned2Purpose Initiative at the beginning of 2025: https://www.pinned2purpose.com/ As part of the Initiative, he hosts regular podcasts with guests from around the world. Geoff is also an Executive Ambassador with the REAL Mental Health Foundation and a Storyteller with Unsinkable.  He was a speaker on Mental Health Day in Davos in 2025 and 2026 during the World Economic Forum.

Geoff is currently a member of the Board of Directors with the Canada Forum for Impact Investment and Development (CAFIID). He serves on the Board and the Investment and Risk Committee of the Inter-Generational Fund at Concordia University and is also a Board Member of Tennis for All Uganda.

Tennis is also a great passion for Geoff. He has held Canadian and International Tennis Federation (ITF) rankings in both singles and doubles in his age category. A thrill and a highlight in the game was when he had the opportunity to be in charge of the players’ drink cooler on the court for a final between Jimmy Connors and Bjorn Borg when he was a young teenager.
